White House says it would only benefit urban areas.
The House of Representatives has put together an infrastructure package with commitments to combat climate change that would extensively impact American life, addressing broadband internet, mass transit, schools and childcare. The 2,300 page Moving Forward Act has been called another iteration of the Green New Deal by some members of Congress.
President Trump has indicated he would veto the legislation. A statement of administrative policy from the White House stated that the initiative is wasteful, debt-financed without explanation of how it would be repaid, and doesn’t adequately consider rural America. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell has not expressed an intention to bring the measure to the Senate floor.
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For Congress and the White House to cooperatively craft an affordable, equitable and beneficial infrastructure package.
- For the president to have discernment as he addresses the infrastructure needs of the country.
